Under the Boardwalk

The stories below are homoerotic in content and usually rated NC-17.  If you are either 1)  Under 18 years of age, or;  2)  You are bothered by such things please  Return to Main Page.  As always, The Highlander characters are the property of Rysher: Panzer/Davis. I intend no harmful infringement of their copyright and I am making no money off this...just satisfaction. This material may not be copied or distributed without my permission.

Paradox - PG rating: some violence, slash implied.  This story was written for lferion for the 2007 hlh_shorts Christmas Challenge, the credit for which all should go to the tireless amand_r, who also did beta duty. It is a CROSSOVER with Torchwood, and presents the connundrum of Methos being kidnapped by a mysterious stranger from his past... or is it his future?

Great Expectations  NC17:  Warning - contains explicit m/m sexual situations.  MacLeod and Methos each think they know what the other will do, and react accordingly. But they're both wrong (sort of). A New Year's Eve story. (December 2005)

As Strong as Death  NC17:  Warning - contains explicit m/m sexual situations. A response to Unovis' Remix Challenge. This is an attempt at remixing killabeez' achingly lovely "Solstice". It took a long time and is waaaay overdue, mostly because writing something that will inevitably stand in comparison to such a terrific story is daunting, to say the least, and I've deleted far more than I've written. I post this because I promised I would do a remix, not because I think it is deserving of the original, which you really need to read this story is intended to explain why Duncan receives a certain odd and unexpected package in the mail. My thanks to my wonderful betas Sonia and Cinel. Any deficiencies of any kind are despite their valiant efforts. (November 2005).

Turns  NC17:  Warning - contains explicit m/m sexual situations. A response to Unovis' Bar Story Challenge. (May 2005).

Brothers Under the Skin  NC17:  Warning - contains explicit and non-consensual m/m sexual violence and torture.  An AU of the Horsemen kind.  Not for the faint of heart.

Digitabulum Magae - NC17: Warning - contains violence and explicit m/m sexual situations.
Crossover with Witchblade, featuring Duncan and Methos, Jeremy Irons, Ian Nottingham, Sara Pezzini and the combined cast and characters of both series. All Witchblade canon is as of somewhere in the middle of Season One.  (completed February 2003)

Kriegers Ahnung (Warrior's Foreboding)
NC17: Warning - contains violence and explicit m/m sexual situations.
First published in Futures Without End, IV.  After killing Kell and burying Connor, Duncan is seeking resolution, but finds something entirely unexpected.   (zine published Dec 2002, posted online June 2002)

Social Graces
NC17: Warning - contains explicit m/m sexual situations.
Not your usual George fare.  No beheadings.  No dastardly villians.  No blood or torture.  Just a chuckle or two. (posted January 2002)

Standing on the Edge of Never w/Maygra de Rhema
NC17: Warning - contains explicit m/m sexual situations and violence.
Sequel to The Ragged Edge.  MacLeod and Methos struggle to come to terms with the tempestuous impact of Quickening energies that are driving them to violence. (posted October 2001)

Heroes and Other Endangered Species
NC17: Warning  - contains violence and implied m/m sexual situations.
Duncan's heroic tendencies are anathema to Methos, and he doesn't hesitate to let Duncan know it, once again. This time, Methos' words do sink in, but they're more deadly than Methos could have imagined. It seems Methos and Duncan are not too old to learn something new about what makes a person a hero. (posted August 15, 2000)

The Good Life
NC17: Warning - contains explicit m/m sexual situations.
And now for something completely different...a response to a Challenge (my first and probably only such) to pair Duncan with someone other than Methos.  It turned into a delightful discovery of a Highlander character I had never previously considered, one who perhaps taught Duncan some interesting life lessons. (August 9, 2000)

Holy Ground
NC17: Warning - contains violence and explicit m/m sexual situations.
Sequel to Wolf at the Door.  After twenty years of relationship on Methos' terms, the past arises to haunt and endanger both men. (July 11, 2000)

Revenant with Rachael Sabotini
NC17:  Warning - contains graphic violence and m/m sexual situations.
A Gothic romance/horror mystery.  In the tense aftermath of the near-war between the Watchers and the Immortals, Adam Pierson is contacted by a watcher colleague who may have located an Immortal, traumatized into near catatonia and in a psychiatric hospital -- an Immortal who looks very much like MacLeod's old friend, Benny Carbasa. (completed July 2, 2000)

Wolf at the Door
NC17:  Warning - contains violence and explicit m/m sexual situations.  Methos is recuited to be Nick Wolfe's teacher, but decides MacLeod would be a better choice, and that Duncan might learn a few things in the process.  (Fabulous artwork by X)  Posted here April 22, 2000.  New posting note 8/20/00:  The wonderful and talented Eng has mounted Wolf at the Door in the Highlander Quill Club Library with some lovely, lovely artwork for both the cover and each chapter.  What can I say?  I am among the most fortunate of people to have such talented and generous friends.

Fumbling Towards the Light
NC17:  Warning - contains explicit m/m sexual situations.  Originally published in Futures Without End II  in February 1999, now available online through the courtesy of the editors of that wonderful zine, Melina and Maygra.  Sequel to Dancing in the Dark, but also stands alone.

The Tempering Forge
NC17: Warning - contains violence and explicit m/m sexual situations. My (very late) entry in Eng's Schmarlequin contest. Much to my surprise and delight, it won! Posted here May 11, 1999

The Ragged Edge w/Maygra de Rhema
NC17:  Warning contains violence and explicit m/m sexual situations. Duncan takes a bad Quickening and Methos is there to...well, that's what the story is about. Posted March 21, 1999

About Change
NC17:  Warning contains explicit m/m sexual situations. Its time for Duncan to move on, and Methos is there to help him find a way. Posted December 13, 1998

Dancing in the Dark
NC17:  Warning contains explicit m/m sexual situations. Post TB/NTB. After a Quickening, the ROG finally gets what he's wanted for so long.

Always
General Audiences (implied m/m relationship). Companion to Gladness of the Heart. Post TB/NTB, this time between Methos and Duncan. Posted 10/4/98.

Too Much, Too Soon
NC17: Warning - contains explicit m/m sexual situations.  My own somewhat harsh version of what happened after Bordeaux.

Alpha & Omega
NC17:  Warning contains explicit m/m sexual situations. A 1997 Christmas present for Maygra de Rhema, who asked (and asked and asked) me to write a Duncan/Methos love story.  Beautiful graphics by Eng.  My first slash story and an enduring favorite.
