The Boardwalk
Below are adventure stories with a great deal of angst. Sometimes there is a lot of violence, or explicit heterosexual situations. Please pay attention to the ratings.

The Endgame Trilogy
General audiences, but contains violent situations.
This trilogy is by far my most requested and cross-linked story. It presents an alternate future, and a possible way out of the Gathering and the Game. A continuation of the interesting future possibilities presented here is in Immortal Nations.

Part 1: Queen's Gambit Declined Darius had a plan to end the Game for all time, but only Methos is left to see the plan carried out.
Part 2 Advancing the King The Gathering is at hand, the Immortals are dying, and Methos needs a reluctant Scot to fulfill Darius' dream of stopping the killing.
Part 3 Playing to a Draw Even the best of intentions by the best of men can some times lead to terrible unintended consequences as both Mac and Methos struggle to live with the outcome of Darius' plan.
Postscript to Endgame:  Checkmate (added 8/03)

Archangel Redeemed with V. Watts -NC17: Extreme violence and adult themes. Highly grahical as designed by Eng. A response to the Archangel episode. Winner of the Excellence in Fanfic award.

Plus I wrote a self-indulgent little Postlude to relieve the tension of dealing with a millenium demon. Rated NC17: Adult sexual themes.

Other General Fiction

Paradox - PG rating: some violence, slash implied.  This story was written for lferion for the 2007 hlh_shorts Christmas Challenge, the credit for which all should go to the tireless amand_r, who also did beta duty. It is a CROSSOVER with Torchwood, and presents the connundrum of Methos being kidnapped by a mysterious stranger from his past... or is it his future?

The Playground - PG rating: some violence.  This very short story was written at the behest of "X", a spectacular artist who, as a charity project, published a zine that contained her pictures from various fandoms and asked writers to contribute bystander stories - stories that were told from the point of view of some non-fandom-related character.  This is my modest contribution.

Forging the Blade - PG rating: some violence.  Now Complete.  Part I, The Wilderness Years, is the story of Duncan's first desperate years as an Immortal, before he met Connor.  Part II, Kithe and Kin, is from Connor's point of view, and is about the years he spent teaching Duncan.  First Posted Spring 2001. Completed August 2002.

You Only Live Forever -  R rating: Warning, contains explicit adult sexual situations, and some violence. In early 1980 in Paris, young artist Tessa Noel is on the verge of graduation from the Sorbonne, and the prospects of going out into the world loom large, while Duncan ponders his life and his work, wondering if it isn't time for a change. Posted December 2000.

Changing Spots - PG13: General, but contains violent situations. Mac decides to ditch his old identity, but Methos has his own unique way of compensating. All praise to the great and mighty Eng who has done some astonishing graphics for this story. Posted May 1998.

Princess of the Universe - R rating: Warning, contains explicit adult sexual situations. Amanda decides to teach ONH a lesson in humility. Posted March 1998.

The Birthday - PG-13: Contains violence and adult sexual situations. MacLeod comes to grips with the true meaning of responsibility and friendship when he is stalked by an Immortal warped by an abusive first teacher during the Civil War.

Who Watches the Watchers? - General audiences, but contains violent situations. Who is killing all those people by chopping off their heads? Why do none of the victims have parents? And what is this weird cult with the tatooes? The FBI finally looks into it.

The Quickening III - General audiences, but contains violent situations. Bad day in Seacouver. What happens to the mind, body and soul when you've taken too many Quickenings?

Be Careful What You Ask For - NC17: Warning contains adult sexual situations. Mac attempts to cope with the after affects of a Quickening under some trying situations.

The Cutting Edge - NC17: Extreme violence and adult themes. A walk on Duncan's dark side as he is forced to relive an experience that scarred his soul so badly he erased it from his memory.

Highlander Anonymous with Maygra de Rhema and Merry Lynne -PG13 but implied m/m relationship. (All in good fun!) The response of three nutty writers irritated with the season ending Archangel episode. A little Mary Sue (times three), a little computer magic and voila, all is well once again in Seacouverville.
